OROQUIETA CITY: The Comelec is in
the midst of its its preparation for the Special Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)
Elections on February 21, this year.
The said office is now identifying SK
voters from its computerized voters list (CVL), who are already beyond the
mandatory ages of 15 to 17 years old on or before the election date, lawyer Cirilo
Nala, Jr., provincial election supervisor (PES), said.
The SK CVL was supposedly used
during the synchronized Sangguniang Barangay and SK Elections last October
2013, but only the SB elections came through and the SK elections postponed.
Due to lapse of time, some voters in
the SK CLV listed for the October 2013 elections are already beyond the
mandatory ages.
Hence, there is a need to identify
voters turning eighteen years old on or before February 21, 2015, Nala added.
The Comelec has already directed
all Election Officers (EOs) and Acting Election Officers (AEOs) to delist from
the SK CLV those who have lapsed the mandatory ages.
