OROQUIETA CITY: The education department
is in its full eagerness to its Jan. 24 Early Registration Day (ERD) for School
Year (SY) 2015-201, a new PIA report said.
DepEd sets the ERD for SY
2014-2015, said DepEd superintendent Dr. Jonathan Dela Peňa, to encourage parents
to come out early to register their children.
This, he added, fulfills the
government’s the Minimum Development Goals (MDG) and the Education for All
(EFA) campaign in the province.
DepEd-MisOcc’s communication teams undertake
the campaign including the registration process, while the schools in its 16
districts have been enjoined to work with parents, local officials and other
stakeholders and students for support.
Dela Peňa said the DepEd in the
province schools will lead the child find activities in collaboration with the
barangays, and those enrolling children from indigenous and communities will be
mobilized to ensure the early registration of the targeted enrollees.
Home and street visits will be
conducted by the education supervisors to targeted enrollees and get the
profile of the respective learners, Dela Peňa added. (PIA)
