OZAMIZ CITY: Another feather in the cap of this city
as one more teacher, this time from La Salle University Integrated School
(LSU-IS), has been cited one of the National Winners of the “Diwang: Sagisag
Kultura ng Filipinas” Competition, this year, a report from PIA said.
The PIA named Ted Nudgent Fernandez Tac-an, who won in
the Science Category of “Leksiyong Sagisag ng Kultura” Lesson Exemplar Writing.
Tac-an participated in the 2nd “Diwang: Sagisag
Kultura ng Filipinas,” a national competition in writing lesson exemplars or
lesson plans, among teachers, and used the “Sagisag ng Kulturang Filipino” as
topic of his lessons.
The National Commission for Culture and the Arts
(NCCA) initiated the competition among teachers with Graduate Diploma on
Cultural Education and those who have attended NCAA seminars on “Kaguruang
Makabayan” sponsored also the by Philippine Cultural Education Program (PCEP).
The NCCA’S “Diwang: Sagisag Kultura ng Filipinas”
aims to instill appreciation and disseminate the images or icons and culture of
the country in the minds of the Filipinos as models for their identity as a
race.
Tac-an received his award and P5,000 cash prize last
Oct.3 at the Notre Dame University, Koronadal, South Cotabato with three other
