P480-M tourism poured for Misor infra support


CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: The government has allocated more than P480 million infrastructure support for Misamis Oriental, which is seen as a big boost in its tourism development.


DOT Director Catalino E. Chan III said this is in line with DOT’s tourism road convergence programs partnered by DPWH for the construction of local road projects in priority tourism destinations in the province.

He cited that some tourist spots in the province are not accessible for tourists.

Chan further said that the government has vowed to support Misamis Oriental in its many tourism program that takes away the attention of many that Mindanao is more famous when it comes to violence.

Among the DOT-DPWH Convergence Program for Tourism Road Infrastructure Project Prioritization (TRIPP) for the province include access road for Sagpulon springs in Jasaan, the waterfalls in Naawan, and junction road from Opol town to Laguindingan airport.

The Talisayan and Magsaysy nesting grounds will have their share also, Chan said. (WITH REPORTS FROM PIA)
