CAGAYAN
DE ORO CITY: The government has allocated more than P480 million infrastructure
support for Misamis Oriental, which is seen as a big boost in its tourism
development.
DOT
Director Catalino E. Chan III said this is in line with DOT’s tourism road
convergence programs partnered by DPWH for the construction of local road
projects in priority tourism destinations in the province.
He
cited that some tourist spots in the province are not accessible for tourists.
Chan
further said that the government has vowed to support Misamis Oriental in its many
tourism program that takes away the attention of many that Mindanao is more
famous when it comes to violence.
Among
the DOT-DPWH Convergence Program for Tourism Road Infrastructure Project
Prioritization (TRIPP) for the province include access road for Sagpulon
springs in Jasaan, the waterfalls in Naawan, and junction road from Opol town
to Laguindingan airport.
The
Talisayan and Magsaysy nesting grounds will have their share also, Chan said.
