Academe to plant trees as climate change pledge

OZAMIZ CITY: The academe involves itself in tree-planting activities and promises to change their ways to take care of the environment now.

A recent environmental symposium on climate change held Dec.  9 to 11, with the topic “Nagbago na ako,” was the upshot of such pledge.

Read publicly during the symposium by educational institutions around the province, the pledge form part of the activity in campus tours for the climate change advocacy campaign.

PIA identified the schools as La Salle University, Misamis University, and Medina College (all of Ozamiz); Stella Maris College (Oroquieta); Governor Alfonso D. Tan College and Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (Tangub).

Partnered by DENR-10, the activity is themed: “Nagbago na ang Panahon, Panahon na para Magbago,” to get students used to do the most simple and physically possible things at their level to get a feel to climate change.
