OZAMIZ CITY: The fire department here
is reminding the public to always arrange all electrical domestic devices in well-ventilated
areas to prevent from overheating.
Fire S/Insp. Butch Baulete, fire
marshall, made this piece of advice in the wake of the Christmas season, when people
are overgenerous in their use of appliances and electric lights.
Baulete added the public must also
make sure to switch off the mains, before checking for any electrical trouble
to avoid being electrocuted.
People must likewise make sure to
repair faulty appliances and use it at specified and regulated voltage only, to
avoid busting the electric lines, he stressed.
Gas stoves, which requires lighting
with a match must be lighted in the match first and hold it over to the stove, before
turning on the stove, he advised.
Most importantly, infants or
children must never be left alone in places where they can fall near electrical
outlets or gadgets and in lighted candles to avoid getting snarled and result
