DIPOLOG CITY: A 31-year old rape
suspect committed suicide by stabbing his stomach with a sharp bolo, Friday,
Oct. 24, upon knowing that policemen are coming for his arrest.
Police identified the man as
Arcenio Martonillas, a resident of in Brgy Mabuhay, Liloy, this province.
Martonillas accordingly raped the
two daughters, aged six and eight, of his live-in partner identified as Marichu
Acabo, 27.
PRO9-PIO Chief S/Insp. Dahlan Samuddin said his men heard a thumping
sound coming from the house as they were serving the warrant and found the
blooded Martonillo.
The suspect was immediately brought
to the Liloy Integrated District Hospital for medical treatment but the attending
physician him declared dead on arrival.
Investigators said the suspect
warned his live-in partner that he would kill himself if she reports to the
police what he did to Acabo's daughters.
The mother reported to the police
that Martonillas allegedly raped her daughters, Oct. 23, while she was away in
an errand in Brgy Polandoc, Leon B. Postigo.
