People rush to see miracle boy healer in CDO

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Claims about miraculous recoveries of an alleged faith-healing of a boy in Brgy. Bonbon, this city, has prompted a medical practitioner to warn people about corroborating information received from supposed patients, reports DxRU-Radio Ultra.

Such healings may have been popular throughout history but people must be warned against acts that propagate beliefs of things that are not true, says Dr. Leo Navarro in the radio.

“Walay problema ang importante lamang magbantay lang ang katawhan nga dili mailad,” he said, explaining some faith healings before have come in a form of deceit, bluff or mystification.

During the years, several investigators have studied faith healings closely and wrote about their findings saying some were just plain propaganda or concealment.

Navarro, during his radio program “Aray ko Dok,” said this has been true in the past and that there may be some groups of people who will use the so-called miracle healing in exchange for sums of money.

But this observation did not stop people from trooping over to the house of Hernesto Haylani Jr., the 10-year old healer they named “Santino.”
Santino is from the teleserye “May Bukas Pa” played by Zaijian Jaranilla, who, in the drama series becomes a powerful intercessor and healer known as the "Miracle Boy."

“Dasok ang mga tawo nga gustong makakita sa giingong buhi nga milagro sa pagpanambal ni Santino ug gikan sa buntag hangtod hapon, gibana-banang dili moubos libo ka mga tawo ang misaksi ug nagpatambal,” DxRU continues with its report.

Haylani’s father said they don’t ask money from patients but have been travelling around the province using their own finances.

He added his son started showing “healing powers” at the age of three and that since then would heal people who troop to their house for healing while Santino does his ritualistic practices of gestures donning his usual white shirt.

Sometimes when there are no patients, Haylani said his son would play basketball in the neighborhood.

Some visitors interpret Santino’s healing as effective as healing ordinary skin rashes, various injuries to total body paralysis from stroke.
