ZAMBOANGA
CITY: The City Permits and Licensing Division have announced that it already started
receiving renewal of business permits for the year 2015 since last Monday.
It
has likewise called on to local businesses to process applications for permits
renewal this early to avoid the rush and the payment of penalties based on
existing laws.
Chief
of the City Permits and Licensing Division Benjie Barredo said some 8,200 city businessmen,
mostly retailers, will renew their businesses for next year.
Barredo
added businessmen can start their process of renewal as early as now by getting
the requisites like locational clearance, fire safety inspection certificate,
and sanitary permit.
In
this way, payments for the renewal of business permits will be easy in January since
they already have all the requirements ready.
Under
the law, Jan. 20, 2015 is the deadline set for the payment of business taxes.
Those
who will not be able to renew their business permit on time will have to pay a surcharge
of 25 percent and two percent additional penalty for every month of delay, as contained
in the City Revenue Ordinance.
